Riot Games Arena // Santa Monica
For Riot Games in Santa Monica, I designed and integrated a complex pixel mapped LED system, which interfaced with the lighting console and show media control to produce special effects. The arena had movable floor sections and LED walls which allowed for different configurations, each with its own custom props. I led a team of integrators who helped me install hundreds of meters of LED tape across a light sculpture spanning a 70 foot stage and both flanks of the arena. I used custom built control and power safety boxes, and integrated all high power by hand, while supervising prop integration. I also mapped the LED system and worked with the PHNTM lighting design team to fully integrate the LED mappings and effects with the show control system. Sequences were created for each of several events for each individual team.
In designing and building this system, I had to be considerate of the movement of the stage props and the mappings for each of their LED integrations. This also involved Integrating LEDs into broadcast sets throughout the Riot campus, with each of these having a different lighting system to integrate with.
